Roganstown – Helen&Dave
I am taking another look at some of the venues that I have recently played in. The purpose of this is to give an unbiased opinion of wedding venues around Ireland from someone who works there each week and sees all different types of weddings.
The great thing about Roganstown Hotel and Country Club is that is literally minutes away from Swords village but far enough out to give it that country feel. It also has 3 major advantages. The first being the fact that it is right beside Dublin airport so if you, or your wedding guests are coming from another country you can be sitting in the bar having a drink within 20 minutes. It has the unique advantage that is has an 18 hole golf course for those who want to get a round in before saying ‘I do’ and finally is home to a full spa for all the pampering.
Roganstown is another venue that offer the ‘whole package’ from the wedding ceremony to the photographs on their extensive grounds right through to dinner and dancing until the early hours.
When you walk in the front door you are great by the main stairs up to the function room. I know is not DJ related but it really is a lovely location for bride and groom or a group shot by the wedding photographer.
Enter the double doors and you immediately see the tables in front of you and the top table just to the right with the lovely backdrop behind.
Some people say to me that its just a room but how wrong you would be. I see this great blank canvas that you can do so much with. So often I have been to hotels to DJ at and the bar is outside or you need to walk to the front door to find the smoking area and the DJ is even in a separate room. This is not the case with Roganstown. Everything is there for you. I know we live in an age that smoking is bad for you but the fact is some people still smoke and Roganstown have this lovely heated balcony right beside the function room so you are not missing any of the action.
My bride and groom for this night Helen and Dave are just 2 of the nicest people anyone could meet. I had first spoken to them in January 2015 where I discussed my wedding packages. This was a full night. No band. Incidentally I would say that about 80% of the weddings that I am doing in 2016 and 2017 are full nights without a band. We talked about the music and of course the first dance.
From first dance to last dance the bride was on the floor including Rock the Boat!!!! I would say there were some seriously sore feet the next day and a great night was had by all. Late nibbles of the most divine wedding cake, cocktail sausages and wedges with tea and coffee were served around 11pm
Roganstown is one of those venues that offers everything so I would put it on the must see list if you are planning your wedding the next year or so and as I have said at the start of this article it is right next door to Swords but enough into the country.
If anyone has any questions and you want a totally unbiased opinion of this venue I am more than happy to have a chat about that or you want to talk about music for your wedding day please give me a call or send me a mail.
